Technicolor changed the way that we see color in the the world by changing the way that we see the world in movies. Three-Strip Technicolor, the first commercially-viable full color motion picture process, was a highly innovative and fascinatingly complex process which freed studio filmmakers to use color fully and creatively for the first time. What can we learn about color by watching these movies? And what can we learn about the ways in which the motion picture industry used color in the classic era?
