Photography, 2010-present

Since 2010, I have maintained an active practice in analog photography, with over 10,000 frames taken in a variety of formats and techniques. The photographs shown here are a representative sample that work. Of particular interest from a technical standpoint are the so-called “trichrome” pictures, in which color images are recorded on black and white film. In addition I made a large plywood box camera with a magnifying glass lens to take long-exposure positive photographs on high-speed diazo blueline paper.

My primary camera is a 1934 Leica II with a 50mm Summar lens. I own a couple other cameras, of which I most often use my Contax IIa and my Olympus Pen F half-frame camera. Alternate lenses for the Leica include Leitz Elmar 90mm, Cosina/Voightländer 75mm Color-Heliar, and Cosina/Voightländer Ultron 28mm. Aside from Orwo UN54+ Cinema film, my preferred (and discontinued) film types are becoming harder to find: Kodak Panatomic-X, Agfa APX100, and Rollei Ortho 25.
